Cynthia Ambler Cynthia R. Ambler, M.D.
Dr. Ambler has been practicing pediatrics since 1997 and has been at Wheaton Pediatrics since 2001. She attended Wheaton College , where she received a degree in Biology. She received her M.D. from Loyola School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for academic excellence. She completed her residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital . Dr. Ambler continued to work for Children’s Memorial as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Highland Park Hospital until she joined Wheaton Pediatrics. She is still an Instructor of Pediatrics in the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her professional interests include childhood behavior and development, and pediatric allergy. Dr. Ambler is board certified in pediatrics, and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She lives in Wheaton with her husband, who is also a physician, and her three young children. In her free time she enjoys running, playing the piano and spending time with her family.
Lynn Ables MD Lynn M. Ables, M.D.
Dr. Ables has been practicing pediatrics since 1988, and joined Wheaton Pediatrics in June 2003. She received her Liberal Arts and Sciences Degree in Biology with honors at the University of Illinois prior to attending Northwestern Medical School in Chicago. She completed her residency at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and continued to work in the emergency room there and in the neonatal unit at Evanston Hospital upon completion of her residency. Following that year, she worked with Hopi and Navajo Native Americans for four years on the Hopi Indian Reservation in Arizona, then internationally in volunteer experiences in both India and Mexico for two years. She speaks Spanish. Having grown up in the western Chicago suburbs, Dr. Ables returned here to marry her husband and took a position as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Loyola University where she taught medical students and did clinical medicine. Also during that time she worked in the Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic at the DuPage County Health Department. Her professional interests include adolescent medicine, newborns, breastfeeding, child development, international medicine - including adoptions, infectious diseases, dermatology, asthma and allergies, and special needs children. Dr. Ables is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Ables resides in the area with her husband and three children. Her boy/girl twins were born in 2005. After her sick leave, she will be returning full-time to Wheaton Pediatrics. Her hobbies include photography, music, gardening, camping and going to the beach with her children.
