Hospitalists managing our patients
Posted on: 12/20/2007
The physicians at Wheaton Pediatrics are no longer managing our patients who get admitted to Central DuPage Hospital. Trying to effectively manage ill patients in the hospital while seeing a full schedule of patients in the office has proved to be more difficult over the past few years. Therefore, our patients who get admitted to the pediatric floor at CDH will be cared for by the hospitalists, pediatricians who specialize in caring for inpatients. These hospitalists are employed by Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and are uniquely qualified to provide the most up to date care of hospitalized children. Studies have shown that hospitalists provide more effective care than office based pediatricians, often resulting in shorter hospital stays and quicker recoveries. We will be in contact with the hospitalists regularly so that we remain "in the loop" regarding our patients' treatment plan. We will continue to provide care to healthy newborns at CDH.
